She met Michael Martin Murphey in 1978 in New York and they moved to Taos.
They married in 1980 and raised their 2 children Brennan and Laura on Riversong Ranch.
Divorced in 2001, Mary now runs and manages Riversong Ranch Bed and Breakfast LLC.
